Dr. Darell R. Lumaco was born and raised in Cle Elum, Washington. He attended Central Washington University in Ellensburg, graduating in 1968. He earned his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine in 1972. After serving his internship at the Kaiser Foundation Hospital in San Francisco, Dr. Lumaco returned to Seattle where he practiced family medicine for four years. In 1978 he became board certified by the American Board of Family Practice.

Dr. Lumaco completed his ophthalmology residency at the Oregon Health Sciences University in 1981. In May of that year he joined the Hillsboro Eye Clinic. Dr. Lumaco is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the Oregon Academy of Ophthalmology, Oregon Medical Association and Washington County Medical Society.

Dr. Lumaco and his wife JoAnn reside in Hillsboro. They have two adult sons and two granddaughters. He enjoys golfing, fly fishing, biking, and photography.
