Dr. Arthur F. Steele was born and educated in Oregon, graduating cum laude from both Oregon State University and the University of Oregon Medical School.

After spending two years in the Indian Health Service, he completed his residency in ophthalmology at Oregon Health Sciences University. He became Board Certified in 1977 and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is also a member of the Oregon Academy of Ophthalmology and the Oregon Medical Association. Dr. Steele practiced comprehensive ophthalmology for 30 years in Coos Bay-North Bend, Oregon, before moving to the Portland area in 2005 to be near his two grown children and six grandchildren.

Dr. Steele and his wife, Lynne, stay active with cycling, gardening, and maintaining their Christmas tree farm. He especially enjoys his office practice and patient care at the Hillsboro Eye Clinic.
